Types of paywalls

Paywalls are not one size fits all. Magazine media companies can choose a variety of options to fit their strategy and revenue goals. Choices range from a hard paywall, requiring everyone to pay for access to content, to the membership model, which relies on donations for content. In between, a variety of choices remain, including flexible, hybrid models like metered, freemium and premium models.
